My Favourite Class: My favourite class was Psychology of Disease because I was and am still fascinated by the mind/body connection we all have when it comes to our health and well-being. So often throughout the school year, it was emphasized to us that there is more than just the body involved in a person’s health. I feel that it wasn’t until our final courses of the year, this one in particular, that really shed some light onto what “holistic” really meant. We were taught about the inner workings of the body, the essential vitamins and minerals needed to function optimally and the effect the environment has on us. These are important points to consider but never did I think that our overall wellness boils down to our thoughts and cellular memory. Cellular memory being the memories and experiences passed down to us from our parents and past lives.

My year at IHN a retrospective: I greatly enjoyed my time at IHN and it turned out to be a valuable personal journey as well as an educational one. I learned more about the spritiual/energetic side of me. I came to realize that our thinking will always create the reality we perceive. Our experience of life is directly linked to the way we are thinking. Thought is the power that creates human experience – the ultimate force that creates our lives. Once a thought is created, we can’t control the experience, we can only control the thought. A little bit to think about! By the end of my year at IHN, I was emotionally and spiritually in a very different place than I was at the beginning of the year. I felt like I had opened my mind to a whole new world that had been foreign to me. I discovered this need to learn and experience more as time went on. I had done well up to this point in my educational career but never did I think I could gradate with honors. The honor was truly all mine!

Today: I have worked for the past 5 1/2 years with Lobaws as a Natural Foods Manager in Pickering. I enjoy this position in that it keeps me in touch with the general public as to what people want. I have the opportunity to “bring people over” from the mainstream to explore alternatives with their food and supplements. I have developed relationships with many of my customers who value my knowledge and sound advice. I get asked many questions everyday which really keeps me on my toes and helps to keep my mind sharp. This position has also allowed me to build a life with my family in Whitby. Since graduating, my husband Steve and I bought our first home and have had two amazingly vibrant and healthy children, Connor and Claire. We do our best to lead as holistic lifestyles as possible and buy organic when we can. Our ultimate committment is to our children who are vaccine-free! I would love to hear from other parents who also believe in keeping our children vaccine-free or anyone who would just like to chat.
