Favourite Class at IHN
Hmmm. It’s really hard to pick just one. So I won’t! My favorite classes at IHN were Psychology of disease with Tracey; it was quite amazing to learn about the connection between the body and emotional health and well being. Herbal Medicine with Diane Kent was simply fascinating learning all the different natural healing properties of plants and herbs. Professional Skills with Josie was also a favourite. I will never forget the special bonds made in this class as well as becoming more comfortable speaking in front of my fellow students. Lastly was the holistic food preparation course with Patricia. I loved learning about fermented foods and making sprouted breads from scratch.

Most Memorable Moment at IHN
The most memorable day for me was the day I came to speak with Elizabeth about attending IHN. There was something so special about that day. It was so clear to me that this is where I wanted to spend the next two years of my life, soaking up everything and anything that was related to food, nutrition and health.

Favourite Quote
“The sun, with all those planets revolving around it and dependent on it, can still ripen a bunch of grapes as if it had nothing else in the universe to do.” Galileo Galilei

Currently Doing in the Field of Holistic Nutrition
After I graduated from IHN I discovered my true passion which has always been for whole foods –whether that means cooking them, baking them, preparing them and of course eating them, I love learning about whole foods and now I love teaching about food! In effort of pursuing my love for whole foods and cooking, I attended the Natural Gourmet Institute in New York City. Through this experience I have become a Certified Natural Chef.

I am currently working in the Toronto region as  Culinary Nutritionist teaching group and private cooking classes as well as facilitating workshops, seminars and retreats. I also work with individuals for private whole food consultations, kitchen makeovers and grocery store tours. I am also an instructor at Institute of Holistic Nutrition for the Holistic Food Preparation course. The combination of being a nutritionist and holistic chef allows me to not only teach people about healthy eating, but I can also show them how to prepare food and meals in ways that are simple and delicious!

In addition to all of this, I have also become a regular contributor for many online and printed magazines such as Chatelaine Magazine, Tonic Toronto and Bamboo Magazine as well as my own blog Fully Nourished. I have also made several television appearances, including Rogers Daytime, Greener Toronto, Toronto Living, and Cosmo TV.  I have done corporate talks at the Canadian Cancer Society, Wellspring, Goodlife, Lululmon, Scotiabank, and cooking demos at various resources including the Vegetarian Food Fair.
